DATA MODUL Announce Pico-ITX Single Board Computer

The PicoITX form factor with armStoneA5 is perfectly suitable for the development of powerful applications. The Dual Core Vybrid from Freescale has a CortexA5-500MHz core unit and a CortexM4-167MHz core. With the armStoneA5 DATA MODUL is offering a small, strong and extremely cost efficient single board computer.

In many industrial and medical applications is a great need for powerful SBC, with low energy consumption. A good alternative to a solution with a Computer-on-Module, which always needs a base board, is the usage of a Single Board Computer, because there is no time and money lost in the development of the base board (faster time-to-market).

The Board is always shipped with a pre-installed operating system. Available is WCE6.0/ WEC7 and Linux. The bootloader, as well as SDK, BSP and finished kernel can be used immediately.

Features like 2D acceleration and Window-Layer, FPU, NEON, as well as Open VG are being supported too. In addition the board offers interfaces like USB Host/Device, LAN, RS232, CAN, SPI, I2C and audio. Furthermore a LVDS/RGB TLL interface and a touch panel interface are available. A power consumption of only a few watts makes it possible to run armStoneA5 without a fan or cooling element. The board requires a +5VDC power supply and an optional wide range DC input from +8V to +14VDC.

Like Fröhlich & Scholz (Partner of DATA MODUL AG) other embedded products, the new armStoneA5 provides a long-term availability of 10 years with a strict revision control.

DATA MODUL offers this highly integrated module with a wide range of different TFT Displays (AUO, Sharp, CMO,…) inclusive inverters, tested cables and adapted Power-ON/OFF timing. The use of a time intensive display adjustment therefore becomes redundant.
