What is a current transducer? A current transducer is a device that converts an electrical current into a proportional output signal, typically a voltage or a current that can be easily measured and analysed.

Shunt resistor transducers

Shunt resistor transducers measure current by passing it through a precision resistor (shunt) and measuring the voltage drop across it. The voltage drop is directly proportional to the current flow, allowing for accurate current measurement. These transducers are typically used for low to medium current measurements.
