RIGOL launches eighth-gen oscilloscope

RIGOL Technologies is pleased to announce the launch of its eighth-generation digital oscilloscope; the DS80000 Series Real-Time Digital Oscilloscopes.

Featuring up to 13GHz analog bandwidth and a 40 GSa/s sampling rate, this latest addition to RIGOL’s portfolio delivers powerful high-speed signal capture and analysis capabilities, providing engineers worldwide with a reliable tool for fault isolation and validation in high-speed designs.

Designed with an ‘All-Channel High Performance’ architecture, the DS80000 Series delivers a comprehensive upgrade to key performance metrics:

  • 13GHz analog bandwidth + 40 GSa/s real-time sampling rate: each channel independently supports 13GHz bandwidth and 40 GSa/s sampling rate, maintaining uncompromised performance even with all four channels active — ensuring the precise capture of high-speed signals such as MIPI, USB3.0, and more
  • 4 Gpts/CH ultra-deep memory depth: with up to 4 Gpts memory depth per channel, the DS80000 enables long-duration waveform acquisition and complex signal analysis, ensuring complete and accurate data reconstruction
  • Smart probe 2.0 intelligent probe system: a newly designed 3.5 mm interface, compatible with both next-generation and legacy active differential and passive probes via adapters, simplifies probe switching across different test scenarios and enhances overall testing efficiency

Built on RIGOL’s independently developed StationMax II modular hardware platform and UltraVision III technology framework, the DS80000 Series achieves milestones across the entire technology chain:

  • StationMax II platform: integrating proprietary 13GHz analog front-end modules, 40 GSa/s sampling modules, and advanced algorithms, this platform supports flexible hardware expansion and feature upgrades — providing future-proof scalability for upcoming technology iterations
  • UltraVision III enhanced technology: incorporating variable resolution, up to 4 Gpts storage depth, and hardware-accelerated FFT, the DS80000 Series delivers next-level digital oscilloscope ‘software power’ through a suite of intelligent enhancements

Tailored for the validation demands of complex systems, the DS80000 Series offers versatile application solutions:

  • High-speed protocol compliance analysis: supporting physical layer testing for MIPI D-PHY, USB2.0/3.0, 100/1000Base-T, automotive Ethernet, and more, with built-in eye diagram templates, jitter analysis, and compliance verification tools
  • High-speed device and system performance validation: well suited for signal integrity testing in high-speed digital circuits, RF front-end modules, optical communication components, and performance evaluation of high-speed SerDes, FPGAs, ASICs, and more. The high sampling rate ensures accurate transient signal capture for system stability analysis
  • Laser pulse signal testing: delivers rapid rise and fall time response with high sampling precision, enabling detailed, accurate measurements of laser pulse characteristics

The release of the DS80000 Series marks a major step in RIGOL’s dedication to advancing test and measurement technology. By integrating innovative hardware, modular expansion capabilities, and intelligent software innovations, RIGOL empowers engineers to confidently tackle challenges in high-speed communication protocols, automotive electronics, and emerging technologies.
