LoRa devices integrated into infrared temperature sensor
Polysense has developed a series of smart human body infrared temperature sensor monitoring products based on Semtech’s LoRa devices. Real-time data from the temperature sensors enables healthcare workers to efficiently screen individuals with a high temperature. The solution has recently shipped to Italy to help with its coronavirus (COVID-19) response efforts.
Linear displacement measuring using eddy technology
The Measuring Division of Kaman Precision Products has announced the availability of its OEM-2306 non-contact linear displacement measuring instrument, using eddy current technology. The OEM-2306 offers the same high-performance machine control as the KD-2306 signal conditioning electronics in a convenient smaller, bare PC board format.
Flow sensors measure up to 700ml/min
Designed to replace mechanical turbine flow sensors, the PLF2000 series of liquid flow sensors from Posifa Technologies deliver increased accuracy and reliability, even in unstable pulsatile flow and low-flow conditions.
Broad adoption of vibration monitoring in Industry 4.0
STMicroelectronics has announced that it is powering the next generation of Industry 4.0 applications with a new vibration monitoring sensing solution optimised to enable smart maintenance of factory equipment.
Saliva test to instantly detect coronavirus with lasers
European photonics scientists are developing an ultrasensitive laser sensor that detects coronavirus at the earliest point of infection from a saliva or nasal swab in minutes.
Compact and affordable mass market 3D radar sensor
Cognitive Pilot, an autonomous driving technology joint venture of Russia’s Sberbank and Cognitive Technologies group, has presented its new, compact and affordable Cognitive Mini Radar sensor. The 3D radar sensor is intended for mass use in the autonomous driving industry and already the device is in demand for fighting the coronavirus.
Sensors are at the heart of robotic mobility disruption
“Disruption is coming to our streets and cities” said Pierre Cambou, Principal analyst, Imaging, at Yole. “Mobility has defined the way humans have organised their society for ages and our world is currently being reimagined around a new generation of robotic vehicles. They appeared insignificant two years ago when we published our first report on the matter, today they are on the brink of changing the world as we know...
Precision IMU delivers six degree-of-freedom sensing
The ADIS16507 precision inertial measurement unit (IMU) from Analog Devices is in stock at Mouser Electronics.
Thermal smart sensor screening for skin temperatures
FLIR Systems today announced the FLIR A400/A700 Thermal Smart Sensor and Thermal Image Streaming fixed camera solutions for monitoring equipment, production lines, critical infrastructure, and screening for elevated skin temperatures.
Home sensor protects both property and privacy
Swedish tech company, Minut, has developed an all-in-one home sensor for the short term rental market offering peace of mind with noise monitoring, home insights and a smart home alarm. The device is easy to install, packed full of sensors with mobile access and instant alerts.
