FlightSense time-of-flight sensors help social-distancing
High-accuracy FlightSense proximity and ranging sensors recently released from STMicroelectronics are helping prevent disease transmission in innovative products developed by customers in response to the global pandemic situation.
Image sensor arrays accelerate AOI throughput figures
Toshiba Electronics has further strengthened its portfolio of advanced optoelectronic devices by introducing two new lens reduction type CCD linear image sensors. Predominantly targeted at implementation in Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) systems, though also suitable for barcode scanners, the TCD1105GFG and TCD1106GFG are 1500pixel monochrome devices that each have a 5.25μm pixel pitch.
TI launches zero-drift Hall-effect current sensors
Texas Instruments (TI) has introduced zero-drift Hall-effect current sensors. The TMCS1100 and TMCS1101 enable the low drift and high accuracy over time and temperature while providing reliable 3kVrms isolation, which is especially important for AC or DC high-voltage systems such as industrial motor drives, solar inverters, energy-storage equipment and power supplies.
Reduce power consumption in CO2 sensors
All GSS CO2 sensors use a technique called non‐ dispersive infra‐red (NDIR) sensing where light is injected into the optical measurement chamber, which contains the gas of interest. The light that passes through the optical cavity is detected by the photo diode. The signal from the photo‐diode is digitised by the microcontroller and compared with a reference level stored in memory. The microcontroller can then calculate the level of C...
Alps commences HSFPAR007A force sensor mass production
Alps Alpine has added a new model to its HSFPAR Series of force sensors. Mass production of the HSFPAR007A Force Sensor, Alps Alpine’s smallest, began in June 2020.
Crowd measurement using wireless sensor network
CrowdScan, a spin-off from imec and the University of Antwerp, has developed a system that measures the density of a crowd in real-time using a wireless sensor network.
Control without touching to minimise COVID-19 risks
The threat of the COVID-19 is forcing us all to take far-reaching measures to reduce health risks as much as is possible. Many SCHURTER customers have questions about the hygiene of control panels. Are these applications hygienic enough? SCHURTER offers the possibility to control without touching.
Blood pressure meter extends battery life to 700 uses
Microchip Technology has created a blood pressure meter, or sphygmomanometer, for measuring and monitoring blood pressure at home.
