Two further Green Belts awarded for Lean Six-Sigma at TDK-Lambda

Power supply manufacturer TDK-Lambda UK, a group company of the TDK Corporation, is pleased to announce that two more members of its production team have attained Green Belt status in Lean Six-Sigma techniques.

Identifying process improvements

Throughout the six-month training period, which is run by the Manufacturing Advisory Service (MAS) in the South West, Tim Puttick and Paul Courtney were engaged in running a real-world project. Clive Davies, Manufacturing Engineering & IT Manager and an experienced Six-Sigma Black Belt holder at TDK-Lambda, supervised the in-house project: “The project focussed on the final test stage of one of our key configurable power supply products, for which they improved upon the level of first time passes and gained a better knowledge when identifying process improvements. Well done!”

Commenting on the project Tim Puttick, Production Manager, commented: “Throughout the programme we were reminded about the importance of obtaining the right data about a process, handling it in such a way as to generate the most relevant information, and then acting on this information in the correct fashion. I found the course to be a good opportunity to share my ideas with people from different companies, where their experiences have helped in seeing problems from a different perspective and finding solutions that were specific to my project.”
