Phihong has expanded its adapter line by announcing the availability of an 18W interchangeable plug adapter for OEM applications, including wireless communications, peripherals, portable equipment, and networking equipment. Designated the PSA18R-120P, the 18W adapter is available with four interchangeable AC plugs that make it compatible with virtually every power outlet worldwide. This global compatibility also allows for the use of a single part number, which simplifies an OEM's inventory and approvals.
Providing OEMs with quality power solutions while enabling them to operate under more and more stringent energy efficiency standards has long been a company goal, and continues to be a driving force in our designs as we strive to be even more efficient, said Keith Hopwood, vice president of marketing for Phihong USA.

As such, the PSA18R-120P adapter is compliant with ENERGY STAR®'s new, more stringent EPS 2.0 requirements, which went into effect November 1, 2008. It is also compliant with the United States' EISA no-load and active mode energy efficiency requirements.

The PSA18R-120P is Class II double-insulated and features Class B EMI compliance, as well as a no-load power consumption of <0.3W. The adapter is rated to operate between 0 degrees and 40 degrees C. Its output is equipped with short-circuit protection with an auto restart feature. The adapter also bears cULus, TUV, CE, CCC, SAA, C-Tick, PSE, BSMI, and PSB safety markings and approvals.

Each adapter measures 2.82 inches in length by 1.97 inches in width and stands 1.31 inches high. The barrel output connector, which measures 2.1 mm by 5.5 mm, is affixed to a 6 foot long DC output cord. Each unit weighs 6 ounces.
