Free Technical Forum Covers Power and Power Management
Arrow Electronics and Mouser Electronics are supporting a free one-day Technical Forum on Power and Power Management. The event takes place on October 22 at the Williams F1 Conference Centre at Grove, just south of Oxford.
Dual full-bridge motor driver IC for automotive and harsh environment applications
The A4990 from Allegro MicroSystems Europe is a new dual full-bridge driver IC designed to operate one bipolar stepper or two brush DC motors in automotive and harsh environment industrial applications.
First surface mount L-band 90W GaN power module
M/A-COM Technology Solutions introduce the newest entry in its portfolio of GaN in Plastic packaged power products. Optimized for L-Band commercial air traffic control, military radar, and long range perimeter monitoring applications at 1.2 to 1.4 GHz, MACOM’s new 2-stage, fully matched GaN in Plastic power module, the MAMG-001214-090PSM, scales to peak pulse power levels of 100W in a 14 x 24 mm package size – delivering twice th...
Synchronous buck regulator features cable drop compensation
Linear Technology has today introduced a 2.5A, 42V input capable synchronous step-down switching regulator designed to power 5V USB applications. The LT8697 delivers precise 5V regulation at a remote USB port using programmable cable drop compensation to accurately correct the voltage drop from a long connecting cable regardless of variations in load current.
High-current shielded power inductors from Coilcraft
Coilcraft has today introduced a new series of high-current shielded power inductors, the SER80xx series. Ideal for a broad range of applications, the new SER80xx series high-current shielded power inductors are offered in two versions: the first provides exceptionally low DC resistance and the other offering saturation current ratings up to 53 Amps.
25V MOSFETs for DC-DC synchronous buck applications
International Rectifier has introduced the 25V FastIRFET family of innovative power MOSFETs for DC-DC synchronous buck applications including advanced telecom and netcom equipment, servers, graphic cards, desktop, ultrabook and notebook computers. The FastIRFET family features IR’s latest generation silicon in an industry standard PQFN package that delivers benchmark power density for discrete DC-DC converters.
First current-sharing LDOs for harsh environments
Texas Instruments introduce the first current-sharing low-dropout linear voltage regulators for harsh environments. The current-sharing feature of the 3-A TPS7H1101-SP and the 0.5-A TPS7H1201-HT allows designers to use two devices in parallel for twice the output current. The devices also offer excellent noise performance, as well as minimize thermal dissipation and increase power efficiency for optimal system reliability.
Multiple signal transmission in small space
Customers wanting to reliably transmit as many different signals as possible in a very small space, along with optimum packaging for their electronics are turning to the OMNIMATE portfolio of products and services to meet their needs. OMNIMATE from Weidmüller is a complete package of solutions consisting of components and services for signal processing and power electronics in the industrial environment.
Linear's µModule step-down DC-DC regulator with SDI
Linear Technology has today introduced a new dual 13A or single 26A µModule step-down DC-DC regulator with a serial digital interface, the LTM4676. The interface enables system designers and remote operators to command and supervise a system’s power condition and consumption. The LTM4676 simplifies system characterisation, optimisation and data mining during prototyping, deployment and field operation.
DC-DC step down converter delivers high power efficiency
Maxim Integrated has integrated two MOSFET switches and eliminated a Schottky diode so that its new DC-DC step-down converter delivers higher power efficiency, operating 50% cooler than any other industrial high-voltage DC-DC converter, claims the company.
