Bourns has launched a new series of Transient Voltage Suppressor diodes aimed at designers seeking wider protection ranges for portable electronics.
The SMLJ-R line, unveiled on 17th November in Riverside, California, introduces 21 models offering working peak reverse voltages from 12V to 30V and power dissipation of 3000 watts.
The components, available in compact DO-214AB packages with uni-directional and bi-directional options, are designed to shield sensitive equipment from electrostatic discharge. Bourns said the devices have been tested to meet IEC standards for ESD, electrical fast transients, and surge conditions. The range includes 13 unidirectional and eight bi-directional part numbers.
The company, a long-established supplier of circuit protection and sensing components, said the new diodes are targeted at applications in portable communications, computing, and video equipment. The products are available immediately through authorised distributors and comply with RoHS requirements.
Bourns, headquartered in Riverside, serves automotive, industrial, consumer, communications, medical (low or medium risk), audio, and other markets.
