Sapphire Balls Come in Tiny Precision Sizes

A full line of miniature precision sapphire and ruby balls that are second only to diamond in terms of hardness and are impervious to most chemicals and heat is available from Meller Optics, Inc. of Providence, Rhode Island.

Meller Sapphire and Ruby Balls are offered in 42 inch and metric sizes from 0.1mm to 0.5” dia. and provide superior wear resistance. Impervious to most chemicals, solvents, and detergents, Meller Sapphire and Ruby Balls have a 2,000°C melting point. These tiny precision balls are well suited for use in medical and chemical pumps as check and metering valves, and as ball and roller bearings, stylus tips, and endoscope lenses.

Meller Sapphire and Ruby Balls are priced according to material, size, and quantity; delivered from stock. Samples and price quotations are available upon request.
