Optical coatings on fibre tips

LASER COMPONENTS’ partner Omega Optical have 50 years’ experience producing high quality optical filters and coatings and can now help customers with broadband anti-reflection coatings, long-pass, short-pass, band-pass and notch filters, which may be applied to fibre tips using both semi-hard, and hard oxide materials.

Filter coatings can be applied to both single and multi-mode fibres, with special consideration to the AOI distributions being taken for multi-mode. The coatings may be designed to work when coupled to another fibre or to air, and tips can be connectorised, bare, tapered or lenses.

Coated fibre tips have a wide range of applications including laser coupling, fibre Raman probes, fibre-based flow cytometry and fibre interferometers.
