Intense Ltd has announced it will officially release several new prototype laser bars and stacks which will be on display at the World of Photonics show in Munich this week. Among the devices on display will be newly developed prototypes of a 300W and 400W QCW H mount version product and a 10 Bar 3kW QCW Stack.
The packaged laser diodes are based on Intense's latest generation of high efficient, high temperature bar material with an emission wavelength in the 808nm range. Rigid laser diode and packaging optimization allow operation of these devices in extreme conditions such as high heat sink temperatures and extended duty cycles.

Intense's patented QWI process continues to prove very beneficial, allowing us to push the performance envelope of our QCW Bar and Stack product lines to higher brightness, said Kevin Laughlin, VP Global Sales. Further, it allows Intense to reliably and efficiently operate these Bars and Stacks to industry leading power levels, even at significantly increased operating temperatures.

The new Bars and Stacks target Defense and Industrial applications that are constantly looking for reliable, higher power performance at elevated operating temps and reduced utility budgets.

As with all existing Intense QCW products these new prototypes can be fitted with FAC lens options and can be built to Mil Spec Standards. The company offers a variety of standard mechanical mounts as well as services to develop custom mounts based on specific requirements.

The company plans to release qualified versions of these devices for aerospace applications later in 2009.
