Qorvo adds modeling capabilities to QSPICE circuit simulation software
Qorvo has announced a key new addition to its award-winning QSPICE circuit simulation software. Electronic designers can now create models for semiconductor components accurately, and in minutes instead of hours, using a new tool included with the free QSPICE software package.
This new feature provides the capability to create circuit simulation models for discrete Junction Field Effect Transistors (JFETs), Metal Oxide Semiconductor Field Effect Transistors (MOSFETs), and diodes using information commonly found in datasheets. Mike Engelhardt, author of QSPICE, cites the new feature as the most important circuit simulation improvement since QSPICE was released in 2023.
“QSPICE users can now easily create models for these power devices, taking their work in circuit simulation to a higher level,” said Engelhardt. “All circuit simulation is based on having functional part models, and this tool enables engineers and hobbyists to do this work quickly and accurately.”
In addition to advancing the state of the art in analog simulation technology, QSPICE allows designers to simulate complex digital circuits and algorithms. Its unique combination of modern schematic capture and fast mixed-mode simulation make it the ideal tool for solving increasingly complex hardware and software challenges for today's system designers.
Qorvo’s QSPICE is a new generation of circuit simulation software that provides power and analog designers significantly higher levels of design productivity through improved simulation speed, functionality, and reliability. This software enables developers to test circuits prior to building prototypes, saving time and money while reducing environmental impact. QSPICE has been recognized as an Elektra Award and Electrons d’Or Trophy winner.
