Starter-kit evaluates high-end COM Express modules
A ready-to-use starter kit, designated the MSC C6-SK-8S-T6T2, has been launched by MSC Technologies for the instant operation and evaluation of its MSC C6B-8S COM Express Type 6 module family. The starter kit contains a COM Express Type 6 baseboard, a heat sink with fan and two 4GB DDR3L SO-DIMM memory modules. Designers are free to choose any COM Express module from MSC Technologies’ MSC C6B-8S product family.
GUI design tool simplifies medical device development
The GUIX Studio, due to be demonstrated by Express Logic at EE Live 2014, simplifies GUI development for medical devices, consumer electronics, and industrial control equipment. GUIX Studio is a PC-based, WYSIWYG GUI design tool featuring automatic code generation for embedded systems.
Program launched to drive HMI development

The program is an optimized package of high-performance MPUs, easy-to-use RTOS, and comprehensive middleware solutions suited for high-resolution displays used in the design of HMI applications.
World’s smallest tracking device integrates u-blox GNSS
Claimed to be the world’s smallest and most versatile personal tracking device, the Trax from WTS is based on u-blox's CAM-M8Q GNSS receiver module. Measuring just 9.6x14.0x1.95mm, the GNSS module includes an integrated chip antenna plus SAW filter, LNA, TCXO, RTC crystal and passives.
Synopsys VDK portfolio now supports Renesas RH850/E1x MCUs
Expanding the company's portfolio of Virtualizer Development Kits (VDKs), Synopsys has announced the RH850/E1x series reference virtual prototype. Targeting powertrain Electronic Control Units (ECUs), this VDK enables automotive engineers to start software development, integration and test, months before hardware is available. This helps to reduce development cost and speed time to market.
SMPTE2022 JPEG2000 video over IP FPGA reference design
At the NAB tradeshow next month in Las Vegas, intoPIX and Macnica Americas will jointly demonstrate a complete SMPTE2022 FPGA reference design that combines both intoPIX JPEG2000 compression and MPEG2-TS cores with Macnica’s SMPTE2022 IP-core to carry 3G-SDI with JPEG2000 compression over ST2022 1-2 on an Altera Stratix V FPGA.
Traceability software harvests & reports data from Speedline printers
Due to be unveiled at APEX 2014 in booth #2215, a new traceability software marks the first product resulting from the recent colloboration between Speedline Technologies and Cogiscan. The software, based on Cogiscan TTC technology, can harvest and report traceability data from Speedline printers.

Both MSPMATHLIB and IQmathLib software libraries are suitable for applications where performance and power are critical, such as orientation tracking.
DAQ software upgraded to include CAN traffic analyzer
The configuration and data acquisition software IPEmotion 2014 R1 has been upgraded to include a number of new features, including graphical filling level indication at A2L file import, new table display instrument and audio playback in analysis. The IPETRONIK business division IPEmotion, who released the upgraded software, highlights the CAN traffic analyzer as a key new feature.
