Tyco Electronics’ 7.5 mm HVL power connector for commercial refrigeration, indoor and architectural lighting applications has been renamed the NECTOR S line connector. The miniature connector, originally launched in 2008, was developed for small luminaires that are built into furniture, display cabinets and other applications that require a small-size connection.
“The NECTOR S line connector provides lighting designers with flexible installation solutions as its compact, circular design easily fits through openings as small as 8 mm -- while carrying the same specifications as larger Eurostyle connectors,” says Jeroen Iedema, technical marketing manager, Tyco Electronics. “It provides designers with unparalleled freedom to create innovative lighting fixtures as its small size does not interfere with a design’s look and feel.”

The product supports plug-and-play functionality for ease of use, as well as optional sealing up to IP67 for applications exposed to wet environments. The product provides color-coded keying for various voltages and a 7 Amp rating for low-volt applications. Additionally, an insulation displacement crimp (IDC) tap design facilitates quick termination of wire. The product meets the electrical specifications of Acc IEC 60320.
