Fairview Microwave has released a series of 5G outdoor-rated omnidirectional antennas that cover 4G, 5G, LTE and CBRS bands.

These small form factor omni antennas are the perfect solution when broad coverage is required but traditional base station antennas are too bulky or expensive. They support 6, 7, 8 and 10dBi gain and are also offered with fiberglass radomes (PRO series).

RF Gallium-Nitride-on-Silicon prototypes

Prototype wafers and devices manufactured by ST have achieved cost and performance targets that would allow them to effectively compete with the incumbent LDMOS and GaN-on-SiC technologies on the market.

These prototypes are now moving to the next big milestones – qualification and industrialisation. ST is on target to hit these milestones in 2022. AMD and Meta's Evenstar project for 4G/5G networks

AMD has announced its Xilinx Zynq UltraScale+ RFSoC (radio-frequency system on chip) which has enabled the development of multiple Evenstar radio units (RUs), whose project is led by Meta Connectivity. These RUs are to expand 4G/5G global mobile network infrastructure.

As the demand for Internet connectivity continues to grow at a rapid pace, the infrastructure that supports it needs to keep pace and improve. The Evenstar program, led by Meta Connectivity, is a collaborative initiative between operators and technology partners to build adaptable, efficient and metaverse-ready RAN (radio access network) reference designs for 4G and 5G networks in the Open RAN ecosystem.
