Designed to provide the power and I/O supplies for fingerprint recognition modules in consumer electronics, the AP7346 dual LDO regulator has been introduced by Diodes Incorporated. The device’s 1.7 to 5.25V input voltage range allows it to operate over a full Li-ion battery charge/discharge cycle and provides an output voltage between 1.2 and 3.6V in fixed 0.1V steps, accurate to 1.5%.

The AP7346 features a high accuracy current limit of 157mA ±25mA, a low quiescent current of 35μA and high efficiency under light loads. This helps extend standby and use times in portable battery-operated equipment, while a tiny 1.2x1.2mm footprint package with a height of just 0.4mm saves space. In addition, an enable input allows the output to be turned off if required.

The regulator’s high power supply ripple rejection ratio of 75dB and low noise performance of 60μVRMS makes it particularly attractive in more noise-sensitive audio, video and RF communications applications.

The AP7346 is supplied in an X2-DFN1212-6 package, priced at $0.23 each in 5,000 unit (one reel) quantities.
