When the first mobile phone entered the market they were exactly that – a phone that you could carry around. However, the introduction of the smartphone at the early part of the 21st Century meant that our mobiles became so much more than just a device for placing a call. Fast-forward to 2021 and our smartphone is now our bank, our grocery store, our home cinema, music library, health and fitness checker, and so much more.

In much the same way, it is hard to imagine what the device of the future will look like, what it will do and the impact it will make on society as devices evolve. To start creating a picture of the mobile device of the future, Molex has surveyed 207 design and production stakeholders employed by a mobile device manufacturer, OEM or supplier. And today we’ll be speaking to Lee Ettleman, Director of Corporate Strategy and Corporate Developmentat Molex to find out more about the survey’s results. Based in Chicago, but supporting the division globally, Lee is responsible for helping to shape the growth agenda for the division and identify new strategic opportunities.
