Advantech kicked off COMPUTEX 2025 with ‘Edge Computing & WISE-Edge in Action’
Advantech returned to COMPUTEX 2025. Under the theme ‘Edge Computing & WISE-Edge in Action,’ Advantech planned a series of events. These included the ‘Edge Computing & WISE-Edge in Action’ Annual Conference, which took place on 19th May at CPC Building Kuo-Kuang Hall in Taipei. On the same day at the Advantech AIoT Co-Creation Campus in Linkou, Advantech hosted the ‘Focus Partner Conference’ (FPC), a global gathering of smart city and retail partners.
From 20–23rd May, during COMPUTEX at Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center Halls 1 and 2, Advantech showcased a wide range of AI Edge computing solutions. Moreover, the exhibition also featured 24 livestreamed forums, integrating cutting-edge technologies with in-depth industry insights to comprehensively demonstrate Advantech’s technological strengths and long-term vision in driving industrial intelligence.
The global market for Edge computing and Edge AI was projected to grow at an average annual rate of 24% over the next decade, reaching over $500 billion by 2034, according to estimates from IDC, Gartner, and other research firms. In response to this surging demand, Advantech’s ‘Edge Computing & WISE-Edge in Action’ conference provided a comprehensive analysis of industrial transformation, focusing on the latest developments in Edge computing and AI. It also revealed how WISE-Edge was driving innovative applications and injecting new momentum into the industry.
In the English session, KC Liu, Chairman of Advantech, engaged in a keynote dialogue with Dr. Lee-Feng Chien, former Managing Director of Google Taiwan, highlighting how Edge Computing and Agentic AI were driving the real-world implementation of intelligent applications and accelerating industrial transformation. In addition, Miller Chang, President of Advantech Embedded Sector, was in conversation with Nakul Duggal, Group General Manager, Automotive and Industrial & Embedded IoT, Qualcomm Technologies, while Linda Tsai, President of Advantech Intelligent System Sector, had a dialogue with Deepu Talla, VP and GM of Robotics and Edge AI, NVIDIA. These high-level exchanges with global tech leaders explored the pivotal role of Edge AI in autonomous systems and robotics (AS&R), while fostering collaborative ecosystem development. The discussions further explored how to usher in a new era of physical AI and industrial automation, transitioning from theoretical concepts to practical applications, and helping businesses achieve intelligent transformation to lead in the competitive market.
The Chinese session of the conference opened with a keynote by Dr. Kai-Fu Lee, CEO, 01.AI / Chairman, Sinovation Ventures, who provided insights into the global trends and impact of Generative AI. Next, the panel was moderated by ChingPo Lin, VP of Advantech IoT Automation Sector, and brought together Aaron Su, VP of Advantech Embedded Sector, Jason Wang, FAE Director of NXP and Stephen Lee, SMC Lead of Microsoft Taiwan. They explored how Edge-to-Cloud architectures could unlock the full potential of Generative AI. Closing the session, Allan Tsay, VP of Advantech IoT Automation Sector, engaged in a high-level discussion with Chen-Fu Chien, President of Zhen Ding Tech. Group, along with other industry leaders. Together, they discussed how AI was enabling diverse innovations and shaping a new era of intelligent manufacturing transformation.
During COMPUTEX, Advantech will host dedicated exhibition areas in both Nangang Exhibition Hall 1 and 2, presenting the latest advancements and application scenarios in Edge AI. At Branding Pavilion, Hall 1, Advantech is showcasing three main aspects: Edge intelligent systems and AMR, Edge orchestration and AI agent, and key industries. These spanned ten core application domains, aiming to drive enhanced safety, efficiency, and intelligent transformation across industries. At iRetail and Smart City Pavilion, Hall 2, Advantech presented the integrated ADVANTECH-AURES innovative system for the first time, and also featured video and data analytics management solutions. These allowed visitors to experience the firsthand integration of front-end and back-end, as well as Advantech’s intelligent innovation.
In line with the iRetail & Smart City exhibition in Hall 2, from 19th to 20th May, Advantech also hosted its global Focus Partner Conference (FPC) at the Linkou AIoT Co-Creation Campus, focusing on emerging trends in self-service and how AI was accelerating digital transformation and operational innovation in retail and service industries. MC Chiang, VP of Advantech Intelligent Service Sector, stated: “Advantech has long been committed to the smart retail and service sectors, leveraging AI to improve operations and customer experiences, aiming to increase efficiency while ensuring sustainability. With the official integration of the ADVANTECH-AURES brand, we are embarking on a new market positioning and strategic direction. Through this partner conference, we aim to engage global partners in deep dialogue and exploration of AI-driven opportunities, and co-create the future of smart retail and service innovation.”
The event showcases a variety of solutions to help businesses monitor store operations in real time, enhance decision-making efficiency, and reduce labour costs. These included self-service applications utilising AI image analysis and AI agents, as well as integrated hardware-software Edge computing solutions. Global technology leaders such as Intel and Google also participated, sharing insights and use cases on the application of AI in smart cities and retail services worldwide.
In addition to the physical exhibition, Advantech also hosted over 20 livestreamed forums at the Branding Pavilion, Hall 1. Industry leaders, technical experts, and partners took turns to share insights on key technology topics such as AI Agents, Edge server architecture, end-to-end AI platforms, cybersecurity and legal regulations, LLM/VLM inference and deployment, sustainability, and more. The discussions also covered the current status and future outlook of Edge AI in vertical applications such as smart cities, logistics, autonomous vehicles, healthcare, industrial IoT, self-service, and collaborative robotics. All on-site talks were livestreamed globally on YouTube, breaking geographical boundaries and providing diverse and in-depth perspectives, inviting audiences worldwide to explore the limitless possibilities of technological innovation.
