Carlo Gavazzi has introduced a room temperature controller, wireless light switch and wireless base station to its Smart Building range for automation and management of domestic, industrial and commercial applications. The compact G8145 2579 temperature controller features PID loop technology to enable fast and easy setting and adjustment. This works by backing off the heating before set point is reached, which prevents temperature overshoot. The LCD screen shows the set point and room temperature, together with status indication for heating, cooling and night set back. All adjustments are made with just 4 buttons, temperature range adjustment can be limited locally to prevent over or under heating to save energy.

The temperature controller does not require any external power as it is powered by the communication bus from the main controller. Multiple controllers can be linked together to provide individual room control for greater comfort and energy saving.

The new wireless light switch integrates a 4-channel 868MHz transmitter to control lights or other electrical systems such as blinds over a license-free radio link. Wireless operation gives architects and installers the freedom to choose convenient switch locations, and re-position them if required. As an inherent benefit of Smart Building technology, the light switch can easily be re-addressed to control other lights or functions without rewiring. Additional base stations (G3486 0058) can be added in large installations if the 100m range is exceeded.

The new switch (model number G8186 440x 703) is available in white, light grey and charcoal grey. Dimensions are 55mm x 55mm x 11mm matching the growing range of Smart Building LK FUGA fittings. Power comes from a 3V Lithium cell that has a lifetime of at least 5 years, and can easily be replaced without requiring an electrician.

Carlo Gavazzi has also introduced a new wireless base unit dedicated to its wireless switches including the new G8186 440x 703, allowing installers to quickly incorporate the switches into any Smart Building network. The G3486 0058 base unit is supplied in a standard H4 plastic housing for easy mounting, and is able to support an unlimited number of switches connected via the wireless interface. The new unit operates from a 230VAC, 45-65Hz supply, allowing direct connection to mains supplies throughout Europe.
