This order involves supplying equipments dedicated to manufacturing OLED (Organic Light-Emitting Diode) structures on smartphone screens. It is a continuation of previous orders booked in 2010 and 2011. It corresponds to an additional order of several tens of cells to be delivered before the end of 2012 in order to support the growth of customers’ production line.
For reference, the OLED technology is based on the organic properties of certain molecules which emit light when submitted to an electrical current. Environmentally friendly, OLED screens consume less power than LCD screens, offer wider angle visibility and deliver much brighter and contrasting images. First used for developing small screens (mobile phones, radios, notebooks, etc.), the OLED technology is gradually diversifying with the manufacturing of flexible large screens and lighting (light sheets).
This order strengthens RIBER’s market position in a strongly growing sector. It confirms the relevance of solutions developed for manufacturing of OLED displays, which will be reinforced by the ongoing development of a new generation of cell line for the next investments waves.
