Green Hills Software, the largest independent vendor of embedded software solutions, announced today that in 2010 Green Hills Software saw strong growth in revenue, margins and income, once again leading to the achievement of record annual revenue and earnings.
Green Hills also realized another significant milestone: exceeding $1 billion in total revenue-to-date.

Dan O’Dowd, CEO and founder of Green Hills Software comments, “Green Hills continues its strong and consistent growth in the embedded software industry. We thank our loyal customers who, over the past 29 years, have used over $1 billion of our market-leading products in support of their own industries. It’s a testimony to Green Hills product innovation, superiority and customer satisfaction, and we continue to see this trend in the coming years.”

The Proven World Leader in Security and Safety
In 2008, NIAP (National Information Assurance Partnership) granted the INTEGRITY®-178B RTOS, the first and only certification to EAL6+ High Robustness, the highest security level ever awarded to an operating system. This made INTEGRITY-178B the only operating system ever certified for the protection of classified information from sophisticated, well-funded attackers. INTEGRITY-178B is the only operating system in the world that has been proven to simultaneously meet the software safety requirements of RTCA/DO-178B Level A for safety and total reliability, and the information assurance requirements of the U.S. Government’s EAL6+ Separation Kernel Protection Profile (SKPP) for absolute security. By the end of 2010, Green Hills Software had completed over 55 RTCA/DO-178B Level A and/or EAL6+ compliant deliveries of its multi-level secure INTEGRITY-178B operating system on customer hardware containing more than 30 different microprocessors.

Continuing its leadership in adhering to industry safety standards, Green Hills also achieved a SWSIL 4 certification for its INTEGRITY® RTOS (real-time operating system) against the stringent CENELEC EN 50128 standard, which targets software for railway control and protection systems. Certified by both TÜV and Exida, the INTEGRITY RTOS received the highest assurance level possible against this safety standard for an individual software component, such as an operating system.

Expanding Markets
Driving sales for 2010 were significant design wins for Green Hills Software's INTEGRITY RTOS and related services and solutions, including virtualization and networking software.

Green Hills Software and Freescale Semiconductor entered into a multi-year strategic agreement to develop, co-market and deliver highly integrated, optimized single and multicore operating system, secure virtualization, and tools solutions targeting Freescale’s QorIQ™ and PowerQUICC® processor families.

The company also invested heavily in integrating with new technologies of partner companies, including ARM, Intel, Freescale and Texas Instruments.
