Freescale receives Continental Automotive Supplier of the Year award

Freescale Semiconductor received the Automotive Supplier of the Year 2008 Award from Continental Automotive Group. During an awards ceremony held on July 28 in Regensburg, Germany, Continental recognized Freescale for overall excellence in the microcontroller (MCU) category.
The global success of Continental as a systems supplier in the automotive industry would not be possible without our suppliers, whose expertise and experience support our development, production and logistics capabilities, said Helmut Matschi, head of Continental’s Automotive Interior Division. Our prime objective is to deliver innovative, flawless products to our customers. Suppliers play a major role in helping us achieve this.”

Continental Automotive Group works with a broad range of electronics and electro-mechanical system suppliers who must meet Continental’s stringent requirements in 30 technological categories and in more than 60 locations worldwide. In determining its nine 2008 Supplier of the Year winners, Continental evaluated nearly 300 candidates among its 810 global suppliers. Winners were chosen based on several performance categories, such as technology, quality and product delivery, as well as strategic considerations, such as company culture, product roadmaps and commitment to the automotive market.
