Huawei Showcases Leading 4×4 MIMO Carrier Aggregation Solution for LTE TDD at 2012 Global Analyst Summit

Huawei today showcased the world’s first 4×4 MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) carrier aggregation solution for LTE TDD at the Huawei-hosted 2012 Global Analyst Summit in Shenzhen, China. This solution adopts leading 4×4 MIMO technologies and allows the peak data rate for a single end user to reach up to 520Mbps.

At the Global Analyst Summit, Huawei demonstrated cutting-edge solutions for terminals and 4T4R (4 Transmitter 4 Receiver) RRUs (Remote Radio Unit). Analysts saw the advanced processing ability of Huawei’s LTE TDD products and solutions with peak data rates of up to 520Mbps.

The growing number of smartphones and use of apps worldwide has led to a mobile broadband market boom. End users now expect high-quality mobile data service with higher data speeds, which brings capacity challenges to mobile networks.

In 2011, Huawei announced the GigaSite solution to help operators ease network capacity pressure. The 4×4 MIMO carrier aggregation solution for LTE TDD based on Huawei’s GigaSite concept can meet end users’ demand of higher data speeds.

Carrier aggregation and MIMO are leading technologies utilized to improve utilization of spectrum and network capacity in order to provide subscribers with a better mobile data experience.
