Here comes zero emission EV charging off-grid
In this webinar, Dr Peter Harrop (Chairman of IDTechEx), explains how battery electric vehicles by land, water and air are a rapidly growing business more than quadrupling its already-large market for their charging stations by 2030.
AIWAYS introduces ‘sandwich’ EV battery pack
AIWAYS has revealed further details of its ‘sandwich’ structure battery pack, which improves stability and significantly reduces the risk of battery safety incidents. By separating the dry and wet areas of the cell, AIWAYS negates the risk of coolant leakage – a cause of more than 80% of battery safety incidents.
Plextek wins DASA contracts for autonomous vehicles
Plextek has been awarded two contracts under the latest Defence and Security Accelerator (DASA) challenge to boost how autonomous vehicles and systems operate in challenging environments.
Severn Trent electrifies operating fleet
Severn Trent, responsible for water supply management, as well as waste water treatment and disposal, is working toward having a fleet of vehicles that are entirely electric by 2030.
Dual mode chipsets enable large-scale V2X deployment
Autotalks believes that dual mode chipsets can enable the US automotive industry to immediately start large-scale V2X deployment. With future-proof chipset, supporting both Dedicated Short-Range Communication (DSRC) and Cellular V2X (C-V2X), OEMs do not need to bet on which technology will prevail. According to Autotalks, this will allow carmakers to focus on bringing enhanced safety to US roads with V2X.

ADAS: Rebirth for the automotive industry
At Yole, analysts estimate, the global market for radars, cameras, LiDARs and computing ADAS should reach $8.7bn in 2020. Almost half of this market revenue will be generated by radars with $3.8bn, followed by cameras with $3.5bn. LiDARs will not be significant, accounting for$0.04bn and computing ADAS will generate $1.4bn.
Compact LEDs boast reduced light leakage
Compact high output surface mount LEDs designed with moulded lenses to optimise intensity are available at distributor TTI.
Thermal management: keeping cool as the electric vehicle market heats up
With the growing market for electric vehicles, greater demand is being put on performance and faster charging. With this comes an increase in the requirement to thermally manage the vehicle effectively. This includes not just performance and longevity requirements, but also safety.
Chip resistors offer resistance values up to 10MΩ
Vishay Intertechnology has enhanced its MC AT precision series of Automotive Grade thin film chip resistors with a wider range of resistance values from 47Ω to 10MΩ in the 1206 case size.
