austriamicrosystems’ Full Service Foundry business unit today announced an extension of its 0.35µm High-Voltage CMOS fabrication service, offering Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) protection up to 8kV at 50V and up to 4kV at 120V operating voltage in Integrated Circuits (ICs) fabricated on its specialist H35 process.
New Delphi Exhaust Gas Heat Exchanger Will Reduce CO2 Emissions and Improve Hybrid Vehicle Range
Delphi Automotive's new exhaust gas heat exchanger (EGHX) will reduce CO2 emissions, provide faster cabin warm-up, improve safety and yield substantial savings during cold starts. The system also recovers heat normally lost in the exhaust system, warming the powertrain coolant directly or as an intermediate for warming other powertrain fluids more quickly.
Delphi OCS Connectors and Terminals Enhance Connection System Performance
Delphi Automotive has launched its new line of OCS sealed and unsealed connectors and terminals for use in standard automotive, light and commercial vehicle markets. The series, on display at the Society of Automotive Engineers World Congress this week, is engineered with innovative terminal and connector features to improve connection system vehicle warranty performance. Delphi OCS incorporates industry standard housing footprints and terminal c...
Delphi Developing Wireless In-Vehicle Device Charging
Delphi Automotive is displaying its Wireless Device Charging System at the Society of Automotive Engineers World Congress this week. Currently under development, the system transmits power over distance to deliver a charge without precise positioning of the electronic device receiving the charge. It would eliminate the clutter, inconvenience and distractions associated with multiple charging cords in the vehicle cabin and replace them with a safe...
Industry-Unique Sensors from STMicroelectronics Enable High-Shock Detection in Black Boxes and Hockey Helmets
STMicroelectronics today unveiled the world’s first motion sensor that measures very high accelerations along all three axes at ultra-low current consumption. ST’s H3LIS331DL accelerometers address the need for precise shock detection up to 400 g2 in space- and power-constrained applications, from car black boxes to medical monitoring devices and sports equipment.
