On stand 845 at the Dubai Airshow 2015, TMD Technologies Limited will be showcasing its latest solid state and travelling wave tube (TWT) based microwave power modules (MPMs). TMD has called on the very latest 0.25 µm GaN MMIC technology and its own unbeatable expertise to produce a top performance MPM optimised for EW/ECM systems and operating over the 2-6GHz range.

Offering an output power of 150W and adjustable 55dB of gain, the advanced solid state PTS6900 MPM provides instant start up, a fast mute time of 1µs and is ITAR free. Moreover, the predicated high reliability is over 30,000 hours MTBF. In keeping with its philosophy of offering its customers both solid state and tube based products, TMD continues to produce state of the art, TWT based MPMs, operating at high frequency and high power.

Suitable for UAVs, where low volume and low weight are critical, the TWT based PTXM Series units operate over the 4.5 to 18GHz band with output powers up to 140W.  Weighing typically only 1.7kg, these MPMs offer a high power density.

Also featured on TMD’s stand will be fast-warm Ku band ring loop TWTs and TMD’s fast developing range of Instrumentation TWT and solid state amplifiers. The latter have applications in the avionics and aerospace industries for radar/EW simulation and training and also EMC HIRF testing.

“These new MPMs, namely the solid state PTS6900 and TWT based PTXM Series units, are the result of more than 70 years accumulated expertise by TMD in the design and manufacture of microwave products for demanding airborne as well as ground based and naval applications,” said Andy Crawford, Middle East Territory Manager, TMD.

“This is the first time we have exhibited at the prestigious Dubai Airshow,” continued Mr Crawford, “and our participation in this event is a direct result of our expansion into the Middle East market."
