TAB-Austria Selects 3M’s Large Format Touch Technology for Game Concept

“We considered many competitive technologies for this specific gaming table application but 3M’s DST 2270DX came out on top for its multi-player support, ability to scale to large sizes and its quick touch response, even with static objects resting on the glass surface or other players touching the screen,” commented Siegfried Dattl, CEO of TAB-Austria.



DST has a unique ability to respond to a player’s intended touch and ignore the presence of any inanimate objects such glasses, bottles, ash trays or keys should they be placed on the touch screen rather than the table frame. The touch screen also has a chemically-strengthened glass substrate, which is sealed to prevent contaminants from penetrating the TAB-Austria table enclosure, protecting the LCD electronics and other internal components.



Additional DST features include offers exceptional optical clarity and light transmission, ease of integration and over 99 per cent touch location accuracy. Nearly any object can be used to activate the touch screen including finger, fingernail, pencil, prosthetic device, credit card or almost any type of stylus.



The Fun4Four table has a distinctive, versatile design and meets the highest technical standards. The height can be varied for operation while seated or standing and incorporates a high quality surround sound system. The table combines a growing selection of card, skill and trivia games, with an Internet browser for web surfing and emailing, and integrated Google Maps for easy location of places anywhere in the world.



Fun4Four was demonstrated in the UK for the first time on the TAB-Austria and 3M Touch Systems stands at IGE 2009 in London and is already shipping to customers with great success throughout Germany, Spain, Austria, Luxembourg, UK, Ireland, Switzerland and other regions.
