High-sensitivity InAsSb device added to infrared detector

Hamamatsu Photonics K.K. has developed an uncooled InAsSb (indium arsenide antimonide) photovoltaic detector that offers high-speed and high-sensitivity detection of infrared light in the 3 to 11 micron wavelength range. The device, part number P13894-011MA, extends the upper limit of sensitivity of Hamamatsu’s InAsSb detectors from 8 microns to 11 microns, which will enable users to measure molecules that absorb longer wavelengths of light...

Expanding production of infrared detectors and emitters

  Hamamatsu Photonics K.K. has announced the construction of a building no. 3 at its Miyakoda Factory to increase manufacturing capacity of compound semiconductor devices. This expansion is being done in anticipation of growing demand for detectors and emitters in various applications that utilise infrared light.

InGaAs photodiode designed for near infrared spectrophotometry

  The InGaAs linear image sensor consisting of 512 pixels with a 25µm pixel pitch has been introduced by Hamamatsu Photonics. The G12230-512WB employs two InGaAs chips of different cut-off wavelengths, giving it a spectral response range of 950 to 2150nm.

USB-powered polychromator contains optical elements

MPPCs incorporate through-hole electrodes

The range of Multi-Pixel Photon Counters (MPPC); the S13360-VE series has been introduced by Hamamatsu Photonics. These COB package type MPPCs incorporate through-hole electrodes called TSV (Through-Silicon Via). This process optimises the available space between the sensitive area and the package edge (0.2mm on the four sides), allowing for a four-sided buttable arrangement.

Linear image sensors feature high sensitivity

Hamamatsu Photonics introduces the improved S11850-1106 and S11851-1106 back-thinned CCD linear image sensors; with improved etaloning characteristics and high sensitivity designed for spectrometry applications. The S11850-1106 offers low noise and the S11851-1106 offers high speed, while both offer a nearly flat spectral response and high quantum efficiency from the UV to near infrared region.

LED UV light source provides 10,000mW/cm²

Hamamatsu Photonics has developed a high-output ultraviolet LED light source that offers approximately 7 times the UV intensity of previous units for use in high-throughput UV printing applications. The LIGHTNINGCURE LC-L5G (part number: L12990-2303) provides the same level of output as metal halide lamps. It was made available to manufacturers of printing equipment on 1st April 2015.

The world's first narrow bandwidth & stable wavelength LD

A wavelength beam-combining LD (Laser Diode) with a narrow spectral bandwidth of less than one eighth has been developed by Hamamatsu Photonics. This development was achieved by controlling the wavelength from two high-power LD stacks at the same time using a stripe mirror and single plane type volume bragg grating.

Film thickness gauge is compact for easy integration

Hamamatsu Photonics K.K. has developed a noncontact film thickness measurement system utilising spectral interferometry, the Optical NanoGauge C13027, which offers easier integration into inline manufacturing equipment thanks to its reduced size and compatibility with automation controllers. The system’s footprint is roughly 30% smaller than previous systems of the same type.

Seeing-eye chip offers reliable light & colour detection

Hamamatsu Photonics has announced the availability of a Photo IC diode, the S11154-201CT, with spectral response characteristics designed to closely match that of the human eye. This chip is designed for use as an energy saving sensor within large screen televisions, for example, and other general types of light level measurement.

CMOS sensor for spectrometry detects weak signals

Hamamatsu Photonics has introduced a CMOS linear image sensor designed specifically for spectrometry applications; the S10121 to S10124 series. Each pixel on the sensor acts as a self-containing photodiode offering variable integration time, so the integration time is shortened if the pixel is bright and lengthened if it is dim.

Low-noise camera allows focus on two regions of interest

Hamamatsu Photonics has introduced the ORCA Flash4.0 LT camera with W-VIEW Mode, which enables read out of two different regions of interest with different exposure times. The ORCA Flash4.0 LT is equipped with the latest generation II sCMOS technology having a spatial resolution of 2048x2048pixels (6.5µm pixel size) and a very low readout noise of 1.5 electrons rms.

PMT module uses USB connection for control & power

Hamamatsu Photonics has extended its range of compact photomultiplier tube modules with the H11890 series of USB powered photon counting modules, providing excellent count linearity with correction performed by an internal processing unit. The H11890 series contain a metal package PMT along with a high-speed photon counting circuit and high-voltage power supply unit.
