Four-Channel LDD for Driving LEDs Directly from a Battery

Catalyst Semiconductor has announced the CAT4004, a new four-channel LDD (low dropout driver) designed for emerging, power-conscious portables where the LEDs are driven directly from the battery. With the migration of white LEDs to lower forward voltages, a number of portable applications are now able to drive LEDs directly from the system battery without the need to boost voltage. The new CAT4004 is designed specifically to meet the needs of t...

Digitally Programmable Potentiometer

Catalyst Semiconductor has added a new 32-tap device to its family of over 35 Digitally Programmable Potentiometers (DPP). The CAT5126 offers one-time wiper programmability via a simple two-wire serial interface, which enables system designers to set the wiper’s value after power-on and also disable the interface to prevent further adjustments. The device also offers the flexibility of not disabling the interface, in which case the system wil...
