Low Dropout Driver from Catalyst Semiconductor

Catalyst Semiconductor has expanded its line of constant-current, LDD (low dropout driver) products to include a new, simple-to-use, high-power device for architectural, landscape, automotive and general LED lighting products. The CAT4101 is a linear-based, constant-current LED driver, which drives long strings of LEDs and provides a high-current solution for a wide range LED applications.

LED Driver/Blinker from Catalyst Semiconductor

Catalyst Semiconductor has added a 16-channel I2C/SMBus LED driver/blinker to its line of bus products. The CAT9552 drives up to 16 LEDs in either programmable flashing or “on/off” modes. The CAT9552 is ideal for applications including advertising point-of-sale signage with flashing LEDs, and any type of consumer or industrial equipment with “on/off” LED indicators.

Catalyst Semiconductor has expanded its line of bus products with the CAT9534, an 8-bit general purpose input/output (GPIO) expander for I2C and SMBus-based systems. The CAT9534 is pin-for-pin and functionally compatible with Catalyst’s industry-standard CAT9554, but operates at 100 times lower standby power, making it the perfect choice for battery-powered and “green” systems applications.

Industry-Standard Voltage Supervisors from Catalyst

Catalyst Semiconductor expanded its supervisor product line with the addition of three new devices. The new CAT705, CAT706 and CAT813 voltage supervisors give designers industry-standard performance for monitoring the power supply (Vcc) status of a microprocessor, microcontroller, ASIC or other system processor. The CAT706 has a threshold voltage of 4.40V and the CAT705 and CAT813 have a threshold voltage of 4.65V.

Catalyst Adds 16-bit I2C LED Dimmer

A drop-in replacement for the PCA9532, the CAT9532 can drive 16 LEDs directly in parallel and provides LED dimming in 256 brightness steps for backlighting and RGB color mixing. The device can also turn each LED ON, OFF or blinking at one of two programmable rates for sensor control, power-switch, push-button and status indicator light applications with I2C or SMBus interfaces.
