Passives specialist AVX has produced a ceramic capacitor designed to virtually eliminate the risk of short-circuit failure. FLEXISAFE components are terminated with the FLEXITERM layer to absorb shock and prevent internal cracking resulting from board flexure and temperature cycling damage.

AVX’s 1210 B case size TCJ series of polymer tantalum capacitors launched last year is now available with even lower ESR, reduced from 70 to 45mΩ. For the design engineer this means lower output noise and improved ripple current in their circuits. It also means, faster pulse energy in key areas of the circuit, which has become much more important with the increased usage of battery power for handheld equipment.

AVX is extending its range of high voltage Multi Layer Ceramic Chips to include an industry standard voltage option of 630V. The passives specialist’s new 630V range offers high capacitance values, low leakage and small size, parameters often difficult to obtain for high voltage systems.

Passives specialist AVX is offering its high TLJ series of capacitors – known for its high capacitance versus voltage ratio – in a yet smaller volume, allowing for increased sound quality at miniature dimensions in smaller handheld devices.

Now available from TTI Europe is the SQ series of high-performance, high-Q ceramic capacitors from AVX. Available in P90, NP0 and X7R dielectrics, the SQ series complements the well-established AQ series, introducing an increased level of current handling and lower ESR. They are suited to applications in the 10 MHz to 4.2 GHz frequency range, from radio broadcasting through to microwave communications.

AVX has just introduced its SQCF microwave capacitor that delivers the lowest Equivalent Series Resistance (ESR) in a 0805 case size on the market. SQCF microwave capacitors present an ESR down to 50mOhms at 1GHz and a quality factor (Q) greater than 10,000 at 1MHz. Devices deliver high performance and reliability for base station infrastructure requiring high Q and power handling capability.

AVX has introduced its LT series of ultra low profile MLC capacitors in X5R - a class II dielectric with a capacitance variation of ±15% from -55 to 85degC - for decoupling and filtering applications.

TAC 0805 2.2µF 25V tantalum capacitors from AVX provide good filtering performance for backlighting control of small LCD displays in mobile phones.

AVX has introduced a 47µF capacitor with a 10V rating in 0805 footprint and P case size. This expands its TLJ range of capacitors which offers a high capacitance versus voltage ratio based on stable MnO2 electrodes.

Based on a combination of niobium oxide and multi-layer ceramic anodes, AVX’s new NPV series of CoreCap™ capacitors deliver excellent ESR performance for medium/ high to very high frequencies, while providing a high level of bulk capacitance for low to medium frequencies.

Offering male and female connections, the FFVE/ FFVI medium power film capacitors from AVX offer inductance levels as low as 18nH. With a capacitance range between 12 and 400µF, devices offer significantly improved current handling capacities and lifetime expectancy than leading competition.

The latest surface-mountable AVX CANBus varistors replace three components typically used to protect against transient voltage spikes: two back-to-back Zener diodes and an EMC capacitor in parallel.

Niobium oxide and tantalum capacitors, manufactured by AVX, provide high capacitance performance in audio applications. Delivering a clear and rich flow to headphones and speakerphones, the parts realise the low frequency response demanded by high quality audio equipment.

AVX has introduced a low-profile TAJ lead-free “R” (0805) case size tantalum capacitor. Achieving high capacitance values, the device allows design engineers to reduce the size of their systems by downsizing components, or by reducing the amount of components needed in a circuit.
