Software option delivers LTE Category M RF tests
An LTE Category M software release for the Universal Wireless Test Set MT8870A has been released by Anritsu. It will support RF tests of LTE Category M devices. The release includes Category M FDD Uplink Tx measurement software (MX887065A), Category M FDD Downlink Waveform files (MV887065A) and Fully Automatic Measurement Program, providing fast and automatic testing (Tx power, frequency, modulation accuracy, modulation sensitivity, etc.) in accordance with the 3GPP LTE Category M RF test specifications.

Anritsu says that Autotalks has endorsed its RF calibration and validation test solution based on the MT8870A high-speed wireless test platform. This test set supports all Autotalks IEEE802.11p DSRC chipsets designed for V2X use cases. Anritsu’s MT88xx series long-established connectivity and cellular test methodologies enable customers to improve product quality while reducing test time and cost.

Software upgrades expand LTE-A Pro test options
A range of software options for the Signalling Tester MD8430A that expand the LTE-Advanced Pro (LTE-A Pro) evaluation functions has been announced by Anritsu. The MD8430A software options now support Gigabit LTE (DL 5CA and UL 3CA IP data communications, SCME, Fading), and Cellular IoT evaluations (Cat-M1, NB-IoT).

Two software upgrades that enable testing of RF Transceiver (TRx) characteristics for 6CC CA have been rolled out by Anritsu using the company’s MT8821C. The upgrade enables mobile terminal, chipset manufacturers and communications operators to test key technologies that support faster LTE-Advanced/LTE-Advanced Pro network speeds: Carrier Aggregation (CA), which aggregates multiple component carriers (CCs).

Anritsu has announced new WLAN Security Function software for its MT8862A Wireless Connectivity Test Set, which supports evaluation of devices for the rapidly growing IoT market even when WLAN security is turned on. Applications including TVs, the connected car, industrial equipment and sensors are rapidly adopting the WLAN standard. To ensure reliable operation, parameters such as wireless reception range and sensitivity need to be tested under realistic operating conditions.

Collaboration enables 400GE device/module verification
A collaboration to build a high-speed test lab to provide a bit error rate test (BERT) system with symbol rate up to 56Gbaud PAM4 and 56Gb/s NRZ per channel has been announced byAnritsu and Industrial Technology Research Institute. The BERT system will incorporate wideband optical spectrum analyser (OSA), high-precision pulse pattern generator (PPG) and high-sensitivity error detector (ED) modules for generating high quality PAM/NRZ test signal outputs with fast Tr/Tf, low jitter & noise.

Two options for its Signal Analyser/Spectrum Analyser MS2850A have been introduced by Anritsu. They support high speed transfer of captured waveform data to an external computer for post processing and analysis.  Combined with the 1GHz capture and analysis bandwidth, the options expand the capability of the MS2850A to address the needs of emerging wireless networks, including 5G, where experimental and prototype waveforms are being analysed using simulation and analysis software.

The Enhanced Multi-Signalling Unit MD8475B-071 and LTE 4x4 MIMO Option MX847550B-041 have been developed to strengthen the functionality of Anritsu’s Signalling Tester MD8475B all-in-one base station simulator.
