A DC/DC converter controller which provides a programmable constant-current output for driving high-power LEDs in series has been released by Allegro MicroSystems.

The ACS722 and ACS723 Hall-effect current sensor ICs from Allegro MicroSystems Europe are now available in a high-isolation SOIC16 package. The low-profile surface-mount package is ideal for space constrained applications while also saving costs due to reduced board area, yet provides a 4800 V RMS isolation rating: the highest available from Allegro’s family of surface-mount current sensor ICs.

The A4963 is a three-phase, sensorless, BrushLess DC (BLDC) motor controller for use with external complementary P-channel and N-channel power MOSFETs. The A4963 can be used as a stand-alone controller communicating directly with an ECU or it can be used in a close coupled system with a local MCU.

  A high-efficiency converter targeted at the automotive and industrial markets, the A8585 has been announced by Allegro MicroSystems. The 2A buck regulator has been designed to provide the low power supply requirements of next-gen car audio and infotainment systems.

Designed for the automotive, industrial, white goods and commercial markets, Allegro MicroSystems has introduced a dual-output sensor IC. The ATS605 differential speed and direction sensor simplifies mechanical design and installation and can sense much smaller or higher resolution teeth for increased accuracy.

Capable of delivering high current due to low RDS(on) internal switches, the A8672 synchronous buck converter has been introduced by Allegro MicroSystems. Utilising valley current mode control to achieve very short on-times, the converter targets applications such as servers and networking systems requiring 5 or 12V input step down conversions at high output current.

Design Automation Conference debutant Allegro DVT plans to perform a live demonstration of its HEVC/H.265 encoder IP core. The demonstration will be conducted on a prototyping platform. High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC), alias H.265, is the next generation video standard. It brings 50% bitrate savings compared to equivalent H.264/AVC encodings.

Integrating a sense MOSFET along with a current mode PWM controller IC, the STR4A100 series has been introduced by Allegro MicroSystems. The off-line PWM controllers are suited for applications including audio visual, set top boxes, white goods and battery chargers within the appliance, office automation, consumer and industrial markets.

Enabling the monitoring of device performance and the self-diagnosis of incorrect device operation, the A1160 from Allegro MicroSystems Europe is a unipolar Hall-effect switch with built-in diagnostic capabilities. Allegro have claimed that it is the only Hall sensor IC capable of verifying proper electrical performance and magnetic sensing: a critical feature for safety applications that must adhere to Automotive Safety Integrity Level standards...

Expanding the company's extensive portfolio of low noise block (LNB) regulators designed for satellite receivers in Set Top Boxes and LCD TVs, Allegro Microsystems has introduced the A8300 and A8300-1. Fully integrated linear and switching voltage regulators, they are specifically designed to provide the power and interface signals to an LNB down-converter via coaxial cable.

This new device is designed for high voltage motor control for Hybrid, Electric Vehicle and 48 V automotive battery systems such as electronic power steering, A/C compressors, fans, pumps and blowers. The A4900 will also be offered in a non-automotive version for high voltage industrial and commercial applications.

Allegro Microsystems has today introduced a new series of POL converter modules, the BR200 series.
