Hardware provider Lanner has announced that its LVC-5770-7D has recently been validated as fully compatible with Milestone Xprotect Essential+ VMS. According to Lanner, this is another successful software-hardware validation case following LVC-5000, a fully-integrated, feature-rich vehicle computing gateway.

Lanner’s LVC-5770-7D is based on Intel x86 open architecture for wide compatibility and interoperability. The internal core of LVC-5770-7D is Intel Core i7-3517UE processor, capable of delivering ultra performance, graphic processing, and hardware-assisted acceleration engines to support graphic intensive applications. The processing capability and the wide compatibility of LVC-5770-7D make it optimal to go with Milestone XProtect video management software.

XProtect Essential+ is a free, fully-featured version of Milestone’s video management software (VMS). With support up to eight cameras, XProtect Essential+ is a suitable match for public transit video surveillance. The software tool can be integrated with other systems and applications for your surveillance needs, and the surveillance contents can be accessed from any Internet-enabled device.

With a Milestone solution, vehicles with onboard surveillance can always record video while on route. The retrieved video can be combined with other video recordings to make it easy to investigate incidents and export evidence.

Deployed in vehicle settings, LVC-5770-7D has gone through extensive vibration and shock testing. Designed to be robust, the NVR gateway has been approved by E13 standard as an in-vehicle computer.

Being a feature-rich vehicle gateway, LVC-5770-7D provides two removable 2.5" HDD/SSD drive bays and two expansion slots for both WiFi and 3G add-on modules plus a GPS receiver, which allows the LVC-5770-7D to update offload tracking information along with the captured images to a remote monitoring system in real time. The system also boasts an abundance of I/O and internal expansion capabilities including eight PoE ports, six USB, two COM ports, and DIDO ports.

Suitable applications for LVC-5770-7D:

  • Public transit NVR for onboard surveillance
  • Passenger information systems
  • Intelligent bus In-vehicle computer
  • School bus surveillance video surveillance
  • Cash-in-transit rugged computer
  • Metro WiFi controller.
