Suitable for high density applications, the ACHL and ACHF series of wire-to-board connectors have been released by JST. When mated, the SMT connectors provide a secure friction locking feature. The crimp style, disconnectable connectors feature a socket half that is mated with the header from a vertical direction. The wires come out of the socket connector in a horizontal direction, which allows the header to be placed anywhere on the PCB.

The ACHL series feature a mated height of only 1.2mm and the ACHF series that of 1.43mm, highlighting their design flexibility. While the ACHL series is available in two circuits with a 2.0A (AC/DC) rating using a 28AWG wire at 50V AC/DC, the ACHF series is available in three, four, and six circuits with a 2.5A (AC/DC) rating using a 28AWG wire at 50V AC/DC. Operating from -25 to +85°C, the connectors feature a header which is moulded of RoHS compliant 94V-0 heat resistant resin material.

The contacts are gold-plated (nickel stripe), copper alloy and nickel-undercoated. For extra strength, additional contacts which are tin plated nickel-undercoated copper alloy are also provided. Designed to accommodate a wire range of 28 to 30AWG, the connectors are gold plated over nickel under plated copper alloy base material. The connectors, which feature a 1.2mm pitch, are offered on standard size reels for semi-automatic or fully automatic application tooling. For automatic insertion equipment, the SMT headers are provided on embossed tape. The ACHL and ACHF series are particularly suitable for LED lighting applications.
