An on/off temperature controller targeting a variety of applications has been launched by Aptifirst. The EV6421M can be adjusted for inputs from NTC or PTC thermistors, Type J or Type K thermocouples, 2 or 3 wire PT100, PT1000 or Ni120 sensors, or 0-20 or 4-20mA current loops, or 0-10 or 2-10V voltage signals.

The temperature controller is also available with three power supply options: 115V AC, 230V AC, and 12-24V DC and its LED display can be programmed to show temperatures in degrees Celsius or Fahrenheit to a resolution of 0.1°C, 1°C or 1°F.

Additionally, the EV6421M has a relay output rated at 230V 10A resistive load, which can be wired either Normally Open (NO) or Normally Closed (NC) as well as two programmable alarms which may be set as High or Low, and as Absolute or Relative.

Roy Carter, Managing Director, commented, “The EV6421M is a very useful controller, and we are very pleased to offer it in our range. As well as its versatility in terms of choice of input and power supply, it is useful for notifying under- or over-temperature alarms. And it’s not just temperatures that it can control and monitor; we have used these as over-pressure and over-load alarms in some of our laboratory instruments, monitoring a 0-10V output signal.

The EV6421M has a very wide range of applications. It may be used for regular temperature control in production and manufacturing, for controlling test chambers and freezer cabinets, for defrost management, as a secondary temperature monitoring system with alarm monitors, process monitoring, and so on. It has uses in industries including foods, plastics, rubbers, pharmaceuticals, asphalt, defence, aerospace, defence, catering, environmental monitoring, and many, many more.”
