Strain gauge can be configured for specific applications

Aptifirst has the LCA20, an intelligent, rugged, field-mounting strain gauge & load cell amplifier for use in weighing and similar operations. It produces both 4 to 20mA and 0 to 10V analogue outputs from any standard strain gauge input. Ease of calibration and setting of the analogue output range make the unit extremely user-friendly.

Radio Telemetry Instrumentation Range Extended

The T24 license-free system of wireless radio telemetry instrumentation, available from Aptifirst, has been extended by the addition of three new data acquistion transceiver modules. The T24-TA is a temperature acquisition module which operates with a platinum resistance sensor; the T24-RA is designed to transmit signals from a potentiometric device such as a linear or rotary potentiometer, and the T24-PA operates with pulse signals.

The T24-AR Active Repeater

The T24-AR Active Repeater has been added to the T24 range of fast, licence-exempt, wireless 2.4GHz radio telemetry instrumentation. The T24-AR is a two-way active repeater unit that, in effect, passes on communications between other modules in the range and thus can help route the signals around obstructions such as machinery, buildings or walls, and can extend the range of the units. The range of the T24 system without the repeater and using i...

AGT - Device monitors temperature and reports back by SMS text message or by email.

The AGT GSM Temperature Monitor is a remote controlled device that can monitor temperature and report back by SMS text message or by email. It will respond with the current temperature when sent a text message, and will automatically send warnings when pre-set temperature limits are exceeded. Also, it has a “Ring Out” mode, where it will dial up to 10 telephone numbers to 'ring the phone' The incoming caller ID tells the receiver that the AGT...

New accelerometers rumble low frequency vibrations

The CTA306 series of rugged triaxial accelerometers, available from Aptifirst, are especially designed to mechanically filter out vibrations at frequencies over 20Hz, so that low frequency vibrations may be measured accurately in vibrationally noisy environments. Ranges available are ±2g to ±30g, the different axes can be fitted with different ranges if required, and they have an amazing over-range capacity of 20,000g. They allow true inertial...

Rugged accelerometers can take some punishment

The rugged CTA103 accelerometers from Aptifirst Instrumentation and Technology are able to withstand up to 4,000g of acceleration overload. The MEMS precision capacitative silicon devices that form the cores of the accelerometers are potted in a 30 x 25 x 15mm, IP65 aluminium housing to provide maximum reliability. The transducers are available with either 0.5-4.5V voltage output (CTA103V), or with a 4-20mA current loop output (CTA103A).

Miniature,high-speed, license-free radio telemetry strain gauge conditioning amplifier

The T24-SA is a miniature amplifier for strain gauges and similar devices, newly available from Aptifirst. Fabricated using state-of-the-art surface-mount technology, the T24-SA operates at 2.4GHz and, with just 1mW output, does not require a licence anywhere in the world. It operates as a two-way transceiver using the MS(QPSK) modulation method, using 16 channels and Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum (DSSS) modulation. Using the integral attenn...
