Qseven Computer-on-Modules are energy efficient and powerful
Kontron has announced for the first time two new modules in the Qseven form factor at embedded world 2018. Depending on the requirements, the Qseven-Q7AL module is available with Intel Atom, Pentium or Celeron processors, the Qseven-Q7AMX7 module uses the Cortex A7 processor. Both modules support the Qseven 2.1 specifications and are designed for use in industrial environments and at extreme temperatures.
Development kit bridges MCU power and performance gap
A collaboration between RS Components (RS), Cypress Semiconductor and MikroElektronika has created Clicker 2 for PSoC 6, a development kit for faster prototyping with Cypress' PSoC 6 ultra-low-power microcontrollers (MCUs). Bridging the gap between expensive, power hungry application processors and low performance MCUs, PSoC 6 MCUs deliver advanced compute performance for energy-conscious devices like IoT endpoints or other small battery-powered ...
Video Speed Class 30 microSDXC cards unveiled at MWC
Three new additions have been added to Toshiba Memory Europe's EXCERIA family of microSDXC cards, named M303. With capacities of up to 256GB, maximum read/write speeds of 98 and 65MB/s respectively, as well as a new Video Speed Class 30 (V30), the M303 allows users to record and store 4K Ultra HD content.
IoT development platform speeds sensor to cloud solutions
A collaboration between Cypress Semiconductor, SparkFun, and Digi-Key has delivered a joint IoT development platform that allows makers and engineers of all kinds to prototype sensor-to-cloud solutions quickly and easily. To enable even more dynamic IoT development, SparkFun created an add-on shield that simplifies system designs with the Cypress PSoC 6 microcontroller (MCU), which is purpose-built for the IoT.
Dev kits, boards on parade at embedded world
An extensive range of products from suppliers such as Cypress, Xilinx and NXP are available at Farnell element14 as well as an exclusive range of development kits created by the element14 technology brand.
Development board delivers low‑power wide‑area connectivity
A development board that delivers next-generation, low‑power wide‑area (LPWA) connectivity and targets use in machine-to-machine (M2M) and Internet of Things (IoT) applications has been released by Avnet Silica. The NB-IoT Sensor Shield is compatible with the Arduino UNO R3 connector layout and is a multi-mode connectivity board that supports both the LTE Cat M1 and NarrowBand-IoT (LTE Cat.NB) air interfaces.
Evaluation board extends lifetime of SensiBLE module
RECOM has released a breakout board to connect SensiEDGE’s SensiBLE v1.0 sensor module to RECOM’s R-78S evaluation board. This technology enables the SensiBLE to draw a stable 3.3V from a AA battery down to voltages as low as 0.65V. Engineers can therefore replace the coin-cell battery with a higher-capacity single-cell AA battery and significantly increase operation lifetime on a single battery.
Low-cost target boards support 32-bit MCU family
Designed to help engineers jump start their home appliance, building and industrial automation designs, Renesas Electronics has announced three new target boards for the RX65N, RX130 and RX231 Microcontroller (MCU) groups. Priced below $30, the target boards lower the price threshold for engagement, allowing more system developers to enjoy the benefits of Renesas’ broad-based 32-bit RX MCU Family.
SBC comes with 7th generation Intel processor
ADL Embedded Solutions has announced the ADL120S, a robust single board computer (SBC) in 120 mm x 120 mm format for performance-hungry embedded applications in the industrial sector. The new SBC is based on an Intel Q170 chipset and is equipped with scalable processors of the 6th and 7th generation from Intel's long-time available embedded roadmap. Up to 32 GByte DDR4 memory is available as a compact SODIMM.
Chipset motherboards compatible with Raven Ridge APUs
