Boris Walbaum
Boris is the founder and president of Forward College, a higher education institution offering University of London degrees across three European capitals which are academically directed by the London School of Economics.
He is the author of Excellence Isn’t What You Think: Education and Parenting in the Age of AI, an exploration in how to design education for a world in which AI dominates.
Boris began his career in the French government, serving as an Auditor at the Cour des Comptes and later as Advisor to the Finance Minister. He then joined McKinsey, where he worked across sectors including banking, insurance, high tech, and public policy.
In 2004, he co-founded and led Article 1, a charity supporting over 150,000 underprivileged students each year in accessing and completing higher education.
He holds degrees in philosophy from Sorbonne University, management from ESSEC Business School, and public administration from the École Nationale d’Administration (ENA). He also earned a PhD in management. Boris is married with three children — and occasionally finds time to play the piano.
