To meet the demands of IoT devices, data centres are upgrading their data rates with 25G+ Ser/Des, while network providers are moving toward 400Gb/s to support Zettabyte traffic. The company’s IP macro, which supports the recently ratified 802.3bj standard, provides ASIC/SOC customers with the IO throughput and density needed to meet these requirements.
The snowPHY-C2 platform IP was tested across process, voltage and temperature and at all supported data rates. The results, which are available in a characterisation report, detail performance for jitter, power and reach.
“We are pleased with the high performance and the low power characteristics of our silicon results,” said Kevin Walsh, Director of Worldwide Marketing, Snowbush IP brand, Semtech. “Semtech’s IP design teams continue to provide robust high speed PHY/Ser/Des IP that form the basis for developing cost-effective next-gen SOC/ASIC chips.”
The snowPHY-C2 platform IP GDS is available now on TSMC 28nm HPM/HPC. A reference design kit will be available in March.
