DC/DC converters target automotive applications

Designed for automotive applications, the PCMD400W series of 400W DC/DC converters has been released by MTM Power. A transformer and a secondary linear choke enable a galvanically isolated output voltage of 12 or 24V, which is adjusted by pulse-width modulation according to the current mode principle.

The converters, which can be connected via screw connectors, are provided with input voltages of 36VDC (26-60VDC), 72VDC (43-101VDC), 80VDC (55-150VDC) and 110VDC (66-154VDC). The devices are offered in a aluminium case measuring 150x86x55mm, making them suitable for applications within a limited space. Short-circuit-protected by primary and secondary power limitation, the PCMD400W DC/DC converters require no ground load and are maintenance free.

Vacuum potted, the converters meet the low voltage directive and are suitable for devices with Protection Class II. The devices are manufactured using SMD-technology and an automatic piece-by-piece test, ensuring a mechanically and electrically rugged design. For smooth operation, the PCMD400W DC/DC converters need to be mounted on a heat-dissipating surface.
