At embedded world 2026, Editor Mick Elliott sat down with Nemanja Jokanovic, Executive Leader at Breadboard and EETech Group to talk about how the company is transforming the traditionally slow and manual Bill of Materials (BOM) quoting process for electronics manufacturing services (EMS) providers.

Jokanovic explained that Breadboard was created to address inefficiencies that have long plagued EMS quoting workflows. Historically, these processes relied heavily on spreadsheets, often taking days or even weeks to generate accurate quotes for OEM customers. However, with the rise of API-driven technologies and increasing pressure to accelerate product development cycles, there has been a clear need for a faster, more automated solution.

Breadboard’s platform streamlines this process significantly, enabling EMS companies to reduce quoting times by up to 90% – transforming what once took days into a matter of minutes. The tool can automatically process and quote up to 80-90% of a typical BOM, particularly for standard applications such as printed circuit board and cable assemblies. For the remaining components – often more complex or specialised parts –Breadboard integrates workflows that allow users to quickly request quotes from distributors and automatically import responses using AI, further accelerating completion.

The platform is primarily targeted at EMS companies, many of which are based in North America, though Breadboard is now actively expanding internationally. Jokanovic highlighted that the company is already in discussions with potential customers across Europe, including the UK and Italy, with plans to establish a presence in EMEA and APAC in the coming months.

A key differentiator for Breadboard is its ease of use and rapid onboarding. The company works closely with customers to assess their current quoting and procurement processes, delivering a detailed return-on-investment analysis within one to two weeks. Customers can typically be fully onboarded and operational within that same timeframe. This user-friendly approach is particularly beneficial for teams accustomed to spreadsheet-based systems, allowing for a smooth transition to a more advanced digital workflow.

In terms of business impact, Breadboard reports that customers often see a 15% increase in booking rates within the first two months of adoption, with some achieving record-breaking levels of new business. This improvement is largely attributed to faster response times and increased quoting accuracy.

Customer support is another core focus. Breadboard offers highly responsive assistance, with average response times of around 45 seconds, alongside regular training sessions and hands-on onboarding support.

As the company scales globally, Breadboard is also catering to specialised sectors such as mil-aero and defence, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements while offering flexible deployment models for both commercial and government operations.
