Circuit Technology Training Inc. (CTTI), a US-based provider of technical instruction for the electronics manufacturing industry, has launched a new course on X-ray inspection technology, aiming to meet rising demand for quality assurance skills in the sector.

The three-hour programme introduces the principles of X-ray imaging, system operation, and defect detection, with a focus on practical applications for engineers, production staff and quality-control specialists.

Course modules cover 2D and 3D imaging techniques, magnification and resolution, as well as identifying defects in common component types such as ball grid arrays, and through-hole joints.

“X-ray inspection is an essential part of modern electronics manufacturing, and this course is designed to demystify the process,” said Bob Doetzer, President of CTTI. “Participants will gain the knowledge they need to confidently interpret X-ray results, identify common defects and use this information to improve overall quality and yield.”

The class will be delivered in person at CTTI training centres, at client sites, or remotely. Attendance is capped at 15 students to encourage a more interactive format.

CTTI, founded more than 25 years ago, operates training locations in the US, Mexico and Costa Rica. It is an accredited provider of IPC certifications, a widely recognised standard in electronics manufacturing.
