RS have announced the availability of the NVIDIA Jetson AGX Thor Developer Kit, the most advanced platform yet for humanoid robotics and physical AI applications. Engineered to meet the demands of next-generation intelligent machines, Jetson AGX Thor provides unmatched real-time reasoning performance, scalability, and energy efficiency in a compact, power-efficient form factor.
Designed for seamless integration with existing humanoid robot platforms, the kit supports a wide range of generative AI models – from Vision Language Action (VLA) models like NVIDIA Isaac GROOT N1 to all major LLMs and VLMs. It also runs the full NVIDIA AI software stack, including NVIDIA Isaac CUDA-Accelerated libraries and AI models for robotics, NVIDIA Metropolis for building vision AI agents and NVIDIA Holoscan for sensor processing.
NVIDIA Jetson AGX Thor Developer Kit is powered by the cutting-edge NVIDIA Blackwell GPU and equipped with 128GB of memory, delivering up to 2070 FP4 TFLOPS of AI compute, allowing developers to run the latest generative AI models seamlessly within a 130W power envelope. Compared with its predecessor, the NVIDIA Jeston AGX Orin, Thor give a massive 7.5x higher AI computational power and senor capabilities that are needed to develop highly sophisticated robotic systems. It is also engineered for real-time, low latency applications with 3.5x better energy efficiency with features including:
- Blackwell Multi-Instance GPU (MIG) technology
- 14-core Arm Neoverse-V3AE CPU
- A suite of accelerators: third gen Programmable Vision Accelerator (PVA), dual encoders / decoders, optical flow accelerator, and more
- Extensive I/O options: QSFP slot with 4x25GbE, Multi-GbE RJ45, USB ports, and additional connectivity interfaces
“Jetson AGX Thor represents a transformative leap in robotics and AI. With its huge AI performance and sensor capabilities, this platform empowers developers to build highly sophisticated, real-time reasoning robotic systems that can see, think, and act with human-like intelligence. It’s a game-changer for industries looking to unlock new possibilities in humanoid robotics and physical AI,” said Richard Curtin, Senior Vice President of Innovation and Design Solutions, RS.
