Power resistor is capable of up to 20kW at 40°C

Featuring a power capability of up to 20kW (higher values on demand) at 40°C and a high operating temperature range from -25 to +250°C, the VSGR has been released by Vishay Intertechnology. The stainless steel power resistor provides IP00 to IP23 protection in a robust design and can be used as a converter and brake resistor in windmill, centralised solar inverter, diesel generator, turbine and railway applications.

Offering a high price-performance ratio, energy absorption and pulse load capability, the device features a power rating from 5 to 20kW, resistance range from 0.1 to 75Ω, with other values available on request, resistance tolerance of ±5 and ±10%, and a TCR of 250ppm/K.

The RoHS-compliant resistor offers an easy-to-mount design and complies with Vishay GREEN standards. Samples and production quantities of the VSGR are available now, with lead times of 8-10 weeks for larger orders.
