LED filaments are designed to replace incandescent bulbs

Responding to the demand for environmentally friendly lighting, Edison Opto has introduced 0.8W LED filaments. The filaments, which operate a 4W LED bulb, have been designed to replace 40W incandescent bulbs. Through packaging technology and serial LED chips, the filaments can achieve 360° (omnidirectional) light distribution.

The filaments utilise a copper substrate as a lead frame, enabling better heat dissipation and a more reliable performance. Similar to sapphire substrates, the luminous efficacy of the filaments can reach 125lm/W (under 2700K, with a CRI higher than 80).

With the filaments, LED bulbs can provide the same lighting effect as incandescent bulbs, but at a lower price and with a longer lifespan of up to 25,000 hours.
