Extenders enable transmission to 4096×2160 monitors at 30Hz

In addition to enabling the transmission of 4K video signals to a 2560×2048 monitor at a 60Hz frame rate, the Draco vario Dual Link extenders from IHSE now enable this transmission to 4096×2160 and 3840×216 monitors at 30Hz. To extend signals, a Cat X or fibre single data cable is required. Keyboards, pointing devices and storage devices can be connected to the extender via additional USB ports.

To enable use with monitors that are limited to a small set of Dual Link inputs, the extenders are compatible with DVI Single Link devices. In this case signals from lower definition sources are embedded within the 4K resolution and can be switched with no delay. With a blanked area on-screen, Single Link images are displayed at their resolution.

Compatible with all Draco vario types, including DisplayPort and HDMI extenders, the Dual Link extenders can be installed in all types of Draco vario chassis. To allow the transmission of other signals including audio and RS232, IHSE provides optional upgrade modules. Designed for use with Draco tera matrix switches, the extenders are also available with redundant interconnection, ensuring uninterrupted operation in the case of link failure.

IHSE will demonstrate the way in which the 4K Dual Link extenders work in booth 7.B30 at IBC, which takes place from the 12th-16th September 2014 in Amsterdam.
