Power elements allow double-sided assembly

Power elements, featuring a compact design, have been released by Würth Elektronik ICS. The PowerPlus elements, which consist of a punched brass base body and a stainless steel screw, allow double-sided assembly of power supply elements in the same position. Achieving torques of 1.8Nm with the M4 thread and up to 42Nm with the M12, the screw is claimed to enable a higher torque than other high-current contacts.

The PowerPlus elements, which can carry currents of up to 400A, prevent PCBs from thermal stress with press-fit technology. Cost-effective to manufacture, the 100-200μΩ technology has a low contact resistance.

Although designed as connection elements for components and cables on PCBs, the PowerPlus elements can also be used as mounting elements, particularly if high torques are required or if the installation space is limited.
