Flyback transformers target 30W PoE+ applications

Operating at 250kHz with 36-72V input, the POE300F series flyback transformers have been introduced by Coilcraft. The devices meet IEEE 802.3at-2009 standards for PoE+ (Power over Ethernet Plus) applications up to 30W, such as VoIP telephones, IP cameras with pan tilt and zoom (PTZ), wireless access points, network routers and remote Ethernet switches.

POE300F series transformers operate over a temperature range from -40 to +125°C, feature 1500V rms primary-to-secondary isolation and 500V rms primary-to-auxiliary isolation.

The terminations are RoHS compliant tin-silver over tin over nickel over phos bronze (others are available on request). It offers high resistance to soldering heat, withstanding a maximum of three 40s reflows at +260°C.

Coilcraft also offers a Designer’s Kit (C398) that contains three samples of each of the series’ five values.
